The Prosser School District Board of Directors acted on the appointment of Ms. Kim Casey as permanent Superintendent of Schools at a special board meeting on October 24, 2023.

Previously, the Board named Ms. Casey as their next superintendent preferred candidate at their October 11, 2023, regular Board meeting.  At that meeting the Board also adopted the Prosser School District’s Next Superintendent Ideal Profile after a month’s long public engagement process facilitated by Human Capital Enterprises, the executive search firm retained by the Board.  On October 23, Ms. Casey participated in a series of stakeholder meetings including an evening community “meet and greet” event.   Feedback was collected afterwards by HCE consultants and shared with the Board as part of their deliberations.

Board president Jason Rainer stated, “On behalf of the Board, I just want to thank all the stakeholders, including students, who participated in yesterday’s meetings with Ms. Casey.  Your feedback was invaluable.   As I said when we selected Ms. Casey for the interim position in June, she was exactly the right person to lead the district at that time.  She is the ideal person to lead our district into the future.   Her commitment to timely communication, execution and follow-through, public engagement, and visibility in our schools and community is what we’ve been yearning for in our superintendent of schools.  There is a sense of renewed hope and optimism in our schools and community.  And we can’t wait to see what we can accomplish together.”

“I am absolutely thrilled to be selected as your permanent superintendent of schools.  As you know, I love the Lower Valley.  I’m looking forward to buying land and building a new home in Prosser.  I’m an all-in kind of leader and will become part of the fabric of this community,” said Ms. Casey.  “Really, there is so much we can achieve when we work together to prepare our students for their future.”
