Today, February 28, 2022, Governor Inslee announced a change to the date the statewide indoor mask mandate will lift. Instead of March 21, the statewide mandate – including in schools – will lift at the end of the day on Friday, March 11, 2022.
In addition, last Friday, the CDC released updated guidance related to masks. Effective immediately, masks will no longer be required on school buses.
Although the timeline for the removal of masks has been accelerated, masks are still required for all students, staff, and visitors in our school buildings by order of the Governor. The statewide order will not be lifted until after March 11. While we anxiously await our transition to this date, we do share the responsibility to respect and uphold the law.
