Thank you Specialist's!
Over the weekend one of our social media accounts received a message of a potential school threat on Tuesday at PHS. This was not a post, but a message, this is why the threat has not been seen on more public forms of social media. We have been working closely with the Prosser Police Department. The Prosser Police Department will have a presence at PHS all day while we continue to investigate the situation and determine the validity of the threat. We will keep everyone informed. The safety of our staff and students is our top priority. Kim Casey, Superintendent

📚 National School Bus Safety Week: October 21-25, 2024 🚍 Join us in celebrating National School Bus Safety Week! Each school day, millions of children ride school buses, making it essential for everyone—drivers, parents, and students—to understand school bus safety. Key Safety Tips: 🔸 Know the Rules: Review school bus safety rules with your children. Ensure they understand to wait at least ten feet away from the bus and only board when the bus comes to a complete stop. 🔸 Understanding School Bus Lights: - Yellow flashing lights mean the bus is preparing to stop. Slow down and be ready to stop. - Red flashing lights and an extended stop arm mean children are getting on or off the bus. You must stop your vehicle and wait until the lights stop flashing and the stop arm is withdrawn. 🔸 Illegal School Bus Passing: It’s illegal in every state to pass a school bus when the stop arm is extended and the red lights are flashing. Bus Stop Safety: Best Practices: - Before the Bus Arrives: Arrive at the bus stop at least five minutes early. Teach your child to wait at least ten feet away from the curb. - Getting On and Off Safely: Instruct your child to wait for the bus to stop completely and for the driver to signal before boarding or disembarking. - Always Use Caution: Children should never walk behind a school bus. If crossing the street, they should walk ten feet in front of the bus and make eye contact with the driver first. Spread the word about school bus safety! Let’s ensure all our children have a safe journey to and from school! Stay Safe! 🚌✨
