Attention PSD parents and students:
This morning, Friday, February 24, 2023, Prosser Police Department received a report of a threat at Housel Middle School. School officials and Prosser Police Department are working together to investigate this situation. We currently do not know if this has any relationship to the incident yesterday. All Prosser School District Schools will be in a Secure and Teach today until we are certain there is no threat to our students. While schools are in Secure and Teach, parents are not allowed to pick up their children. The district will continue to update everyone on the situation.

This morning the Prosser Police Department received an anonymous tip that a bomb had been placed on the campus of Housel Middle School. Although there were concerns with the credibility of the information, the safety of Prosser students is our highest priority. In responding to this information, a full sweep of the building occurred with a canine trained in identifying incendiary devices. The students and staff were relocated while these precautionary measures occurred. The Prosser School District takes all threats seriously. If you have any questions or concerns about this communication, please feel free to contact the district office at 509-786-3323. Thank you, Matt Ellis

“We have also come to this hallowed spot to remind America of the fierce urgency of Now. This is no time to engage in the luxury of cooling off or to take the tranquilizing drug of gradualism. Now is the time to make real the promises of democracy. Now is the time to rise from the dark and desolate valley of segregation to the sunlit path of racial justice. Now is the time to lift our nation from the quicksands of racial injustice to the solid rock of brotherhood. Now is the time to make justice a reality for all of God's children.” - Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
In observance of Dr. Martin Luther King jr. Day there will be no school on Monday, January 16, 2023.
